Am/is/are (questions)



Hello everybody
Today's lesson is similar to the previous lesson
It's gonna be about "am/is/are" (Questions)
So let's get started!


Step 1: Read the lesson carefully

Step 2: Read the summary

In the previous lesson:
I ... am
He + She + It ... is
We + You + They ... are

This formula happens when it’s positive
But if I turned it into a (Questions) it would be:

Am...I 
*Sentence: I'm a good student
*Question: Am I a good student?

Is:
He
She 
*Sentence: He/she's beautiful 
*Question: Is he/she beautiful?

Are:
We
*Sentence: We are players
*Question: Are we players? 
You
*Sentence: You are smart
*Question: Are you smart?
They
*Sentence: They are students
*Question: Are they students?

*WH question words

We use:
1# WHAT for thing 
For example: What is that?

2#WHEN for time 

For example: When is the game?

3#WHO for person 

For example: Who do you live with?

4#WHERE for place 

For example: Where do you live?

5#WHY for reason

For example: Why are you happy?

6# HOW (it has many different meanings)
1-Manner 
For example: How does this thing work? 
2-asking about condition or quality
For example:How was your exam?

*NOTE
Subject and verb change their position in statement and question
⚫Sentence: You are from Germany.
⚫Question: Are you from Germany?


*In the short answers:
If the answer is yes, we always use the long form Example: yes, I am.
If the answer is No, we either use the long or the contracted form (short form)

➡Example: No, I am not. ➡ No, I'm not.
